I know my mother-in-law has fallen twice when they tried to get her up to go to the bathroom, and they sent her over to the hospital and had her checked over there.
The head administrator never even introduced himself to me once nor did he ever visit my mom one time to oversee the horror that is ongoing there. When you press the red button for help to get to the bathroom ; you are ignored for at least an hour and told that your aid was on break or at lunch. When you go in the hall she is standing around gossiping with other employees and mocking me and rudely imitating the way I walk or talk. When you call to get information about my mom , I am screamed at and told they are doing rounds and are too busy to talk to me.
Independent Living
My mother was there for about a month, and it was a blessing they would not admit her as a pending Medicaid patient. Although this facility is very close to me, I gladly make the trip across the lake to provide her with a tenfold better environment. Colonial Oaks Living Center is fair.
The nurses, only a very few, were sarcastic and acted like you were beneath them. One nurse got mad because my 93 year old mother soiled her bed two nights in a row. She told my mother that all the workers had kids and they were going to get sick. Was my mother the only person that this happened to? Further, they rarely came in a timely manner when she needed to go to the bathroom. They woke her up at 6 in the morning only to sit at the table for her meals for one hour and then one hour to get her back to her.

My Mom started out in Skilled Nursing after falling and breaking several things. We were so satisfied with Colonial Oaks that we wanted her to become a resident. She was able to get in and after settling down, not without some anxiety she is now very content. She loves her new friends n the employees. My mom is very sweet n easy going n in return that is how she is treated. She loves playing bingo n getting her hair done every Tuesday.

Our highly experienced team gets residents back on their feet and back to life as quickly and as safely as possible. When around-the-clock nursing support is required, families can be assured their loved ones will receive the highest-quality specialized care they need, and the support and love they deserve. I witnessed nurses handing prescription drugs to residents and walking aways. By law they are suppose to stay with the resident until they take the medication. I complained to the head nurse and she said she just spoke to the nurses the day before.
We demonstrate this by providing for the emotional, social and cultural needs for each of our residents and their families. Until July 2018 everything was excellent. In July corporate, which is located in another state, made changes that changed the entire facility. Employees are quitting, housekeeping is sloppy, and the food is worse than horrible.
They have aides on every hall and they're right out in the hall from his room. I ate there the other day with my father. If my mom has a problem she lets them know and they take care of it. I want to thank Cindy, Clem, Don, Sasha, Renee, Ms Jenny, n Angela many others that I have left out for making my mom feel like she has a family at Colonial Oaks. Our nursing homes and the care we provide are guided by a commitment to resident care and comfort.
We visit often because my mom had 11 children n we feel she did her best with us n that’s how we should treat her. We were very scared at first, that she maybe mistreated or not taken care of like we would take care of her. My mom has a roommate n they get along fine but my mom only stays in her room to sleep. It’s always clean, there’s a man always sweeping n mopping, they always answer the phone when I call n they have always addressed any issues we had.
